Learning how to garden!

We are getting closer to move in day and the Saunders are helping to teach us how to be farmers. We are so lucky to be learning from them and are happy that they are sharing their knowledge with us. We look forward to learning everything there is about growing a garden. Today we planted potatoes and carrots. Next week we will plant peas, and continue to prune the raspberry bushes. Strawberry plants will get planted in May.

We have so many exciting things in the works and will share it all through our blog as we go. ๐Ÿ™‚

Starting our Farming duties.

Now that the sale is final we are being taught the farming ways. We were invited to join other farmers on Dell road to help with clearing of the water way so we can turn the water to our creek on soon. It was nice to meet some of the farmers and to get the opportunity to learn and work together. Thank you to the Saunders for teaching us the way before move in day. ๐Ÿ™‚

We bought a farm!

It was April 2, 2021 when we got the final approval for purchasing the Saunders Family Farm property in Windermere. Our family has dreamed of having a property where we can enjoy the great outdoors and have our animals on our farm for us to visit every day. The garden at Saunders farm was a bit unexpected, but a great bonus we are looking forward to.

We will be farmers and we are super excited for all the learning this will entail. We take possession May 3rd. Once we move in we have a lot of work ahead of us to build fences and get the farm ready for public use, but we are ready and excited to take this all on.

I will be keeping this blog updated with everything we are learning and up to at the farm. Make sure to check in and keep in touch. ๐Ÿ™‚
